- they are complicated constructions that have to last, look good, protect and be comfortable. In recent years, high performance footwear has pushed each of those criteria to the point of expressing speed, power and rugged comfort in an array of colors, materials and designs.
- and last but not least: shoes are not only useful and an urban accessory for our times, they are the incarnation of culture in movement, a focus of our pursuit of distraction through shopping and of our anxious urban rootlessness.
